Celebrated author and BAIPA member, Lee Foster will be the lead speaker this coming Saturday, October 3, 10:30am, at the San Francisco Bookbinders Museum. Lee has published 14 books, ten with major national publishers and his latest four through his own independent publishing company. He’ll be explaining how indie publishing has become so streamlined, and how he makes much more from his books than when he was relying on a publishing house. He’ll also give insider tips on how to sell through Amazon and Smashwords, and why not to use BookMaster.
Lee has managed to stay two steps ahead of the digital disruption of traditional publishing and will share how you can be in the perfect position to profit from it. His new book on independent publishing, An Author’s Perspective on Independent Publishing, discusses in detail everything he will be presenting. There will be time for questions from attendees.
The Norcal Chapter of the American Society of Journalists & Authors is sponsoring the meeting, and attendees will have a chance to mingle and get to know each other over lunch.
Sara Godwin, Northern California ASJA co-chair will host. Her experience includes writing in every medium: books, television, radio, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, websites, and blogs on a variety of subjects from gorillas to gardening.
The American Bookbinders Museum at 355 Clementia in San Francisco is a fascinating place that is all about the art and craft of bookbinding, and you’ll want to allow time after to look around.
