Submit Your Cover to BAIPA Contest by November 20

November 13, 2021 by John Byrne Barry

David Kudler will lead a presentation on cover design at our December meeting and once again we will hold our annual book cover contest. (This is our fourth year, so it’s becoming a tradition, and it on its way to an institution!)

Since we’re not meeting in person, here’s how we’ll manage our contest:

  1. The contest is open to any book authored by a current BAIPA member, whether you worked with a designer on the cover or you designed it yourself. Any year of publication is fine. (Even next year, if the cover is finished.) You can submit a cover you’ve submitted before, unless you won. We can only accept one entry per author.
  2. Send a copy of the front cover to [email protected]. At least 1000 pixels wide. Deadline is November 20.
  3. We will put the covers together into slides that we’ll display at the meeting and then we’ll use a Zoom poll and everyone present will get three votes.

Winner(s) get a free afternoon workshop in 2021. The prize must be used no later than the November 2022 meeting.

We look forward to seeing your covers.

I’m very interested in your cover contest. I’d like more information on submitting my cover on “Barking Up the Wrong Skirt- 26 Essays on Bachelorhood.” When I lived in California, I spoke at several BAIPA events.

In 2005, my book “Triumph in Teams” was selected as a winner in one of the BAIPA book contest categories.

Rick – You would need to be a current BAIPA member, and you can do that by clicking on the Join button in the red menu bar. In fact, there is a special offer just for the month of November that you might want to take advantage of. Then, once you take that step, you can send your cover to [email protected].
