It’s been a growth-filled year for Becky Parker Geist at Pro Audio Voices, helping great stories come alive through audiobook production and marketing. With the ongoing stellar rise in the audiobook industry, by far the fastest growing segment of publishing, Becky has expanded her team and launched a much-needed service for authors with audiobooks: the Audiobook Marketing Program™ (AMP).
“I searched for years for some marketing solution for my clients,” Becky reports, “and could not find anything. So I started seeking out and figuring out a way to build our own. I teamed up with John Sames (also a member of BAIPA) who is an SEO expert, and we built AMP.” Becky describes the video trailer/s the AMP team creates for each person who signs up for AMP as the hub of the marketing wheel. Each author has their own hub, and together the AMP vehicle picks up sales speed and visibility on this Audiobook Authors highway.
“Being part of BAIPA has kept me conscious of the power of community, and we figured out a way to actually build this so that every time one member of the Audiobook Marketing Program takes action to share their own video trailer, it benefits all the other members of our Audiobook Authors community,” Becky says. “And AMP helps with not just the audiobook editions, but ALL formats of your book.”
BAIPA has also kept Becky mindful of the overload that most indie authors experience when it comes to marketing. Writers would generally rather write than spend time marketing. “We also came up with a way to help our Audiobook Authors keep the marketing moving, by spending just 10 minutes each week to do it. We send out a weekly 10-Minute Marketing Memo, with simple instructions you can do in 10 minutes or less. I know how overwhelming it can be for authors, and I also know how important marketing is. So we figured out a solution to help resolve that – and again, it revolves around the community.”
In January, Becky and her Pro Audio Voices marketing team plan to launch a Book Marketing Program for authors who do not yet have their books in the audiobook format. The program will be based on the same principles and leverage video as well. More to come on that! Click to learn more about the Audiobook Marketing Program™
