BAIPA author Julie Freestone and her husband and co-author Rudi Raab use printed postcards to promote their Stumbling Stone novel. At the recent Jewish Film Festival, they distributed a promo piece after the movie Nazi Legacy. Although their website stumbling-stone.com showed a spike after the event, it wasn’t clear if the strategy worked.
So they tried again after attending Labyrinth of Lies, a movie eerily similar to their historical fiction work. Two days after distributing about two dozen cards, they were asked to speak at an annual luncheon connected with UC Berkeley. The group learned about Julie and Rudi from the postcard.
