Have you been wondering why there has been no news about the BAIPA Book Awards this year?
Here is the reason, clear and simple: BAIPA is an organization completely run by volunteer effort. We do our best to provide as many valuable services to our members as possible. But without anyone from the membership stepping up to manage the Book Awards process, it isn’t going to happen.
The Board’s ambitious vision is that at least 20 percent of our members will be serving as volunteers by the end of April 2018. With our present membership of about 190, that would be about 80 volunteers. Currently, we have 8 Board members and about 8 other volunteers serving in various capacities.
