BAIPA member and New York Times/USAToday, bestselling author, Ciji Ware, whose latest novel is Landing by Moonlight, will take us back to the 1940s when American women secret agents had no idea whether they’d be dropped behind enemy lines off a submarine, from a fishing boat, or flung through the moonlit sky from a low-flying British Halifax. Ware’s illustrated lecture features newly discovered wartime images of the ‘real’ unsung heroines who enlisted in Britain’s SOE (Special Operation Executive) and America’s OSS (Office of Strategic Services, the precursor of the CIA).
