December 15, 2021 by Ruth Schwartz 2 Comments

BAIPA monthly meetings are now exclusively on Zoom, at least until we get through this COVID-19 crisis. The Zoom links will be provided to you via email on the Friday evening before, around 9 PM.
Therefore, all non-members MUST register in advance in order to participate. However, all current BAIPA members will get the Zoom info for the morning session automatically.

Please scroll down to the bottom of this page for the list of available tickets. Members, please log in first.

The general meeting begins at 9 am, the speaker presentation is at 11 am, after Q&A, networking time, introductions & announcements, followed by a lunch break from 12:15-1:00 PM, and then our Afternoon Workshop from 1-3 PM.
(Click here for the schedule for the day)

MORNING PRESENTATION:

How publishers use Bookshop.org to sell more books and support local bookstores—in addition to selling on Amazon

Andy Hunter,
Founder & CEO of Bookstore.org

Bookshop.org is an online bookstore that financially supports physical, independent bookstores. In Bookshop’s first two years, it has sold over $100 million in books and earned over $19 million for local bookstores. Bookshop is also committed to supporting independent publishers, who can become affiliates on the platform and earn a 10% affiliate fee for every book sold – with a matching 10% shared with independent bookstores. Founder & CEO Andy Hunter will discuss best practices for publishers who wish to work with Bookshop.org, and answer questions about the platform.

Takeaways:

1. Learn how to set up a Bookshop.org affiliate account.
2. Best practices on creating lists of your books by theme or season.
3. Ensuring your books are available on Bookshop.org via Ingram or POD.
4. How to optimize your Bookshop.org presence for SEO.
