David Kudler will be leading the presentation at our next meeting on how to make sure your book cover is doing its job. We will also be hosting our second annual book cover contest, so if you worked with a designer on your book’s cover or you designed it yourself, bring a copy for our contest. Everyone who comes will get a chance to vote.
The winner of the contest gets a free lunch, courtesy of BAIPA, at the holiday party at Wildfox in Novato (225 Alameda Del Prado) after the meeting.
Lenore Hirsch says
This is a question for the person running the contest. My book cover features a cartoon which I purchased from the artist and a background, lettering, etc. which was done by a designer with my input. Does the purchased art make this ineligible? It is definitely a factor in sales! Thanks. I’ll be there Saturday.
Communications Chair says
Not to worry, Lenore. It is about the cover itself, not how it was created.
