Lee Foster was an award-winning travel writer, winner of eight Lowell Thomas Awards — including being named Lowell Thomas Travel Journalist of the Year, one of the most coveted prizes in the travel writing world — and a key member of BAIPA for many years. He left the planet on July 19, 2020, in his sleep.
Wendy Bartlett remembers Lee…
To Lee
There you stand
so brave and tall
But down you go Like in a fall
We know it happens to us all
That day when I was going to call
I want to say
Good-bye my friend
I can’t believe this is the end
I miss you now
I’ll miss you then.
And then, and then
And then, and then.
Carole Terwilliger Meyers says
Yes, Lee left us too soon. I have been getting rid of a lot of my Carousel Press publisher days files and Lee’s name is sprinkled throughout. Sigh.
Karin Fisher-Golton says
What a lovely tribute to Lee. And you poignantly captured the quality of the expected unexpected process we’re all in together. It is still shocking to me that he is gone.
