There will probably be at least one person who shows up at the Key Center in Novato for BAIPA’s September meeting and wonders where everyone is. But it won’t be you, because you’re reading this now and you’re going to put it in your calendar and register now. Right now, before you forget.
BAIPA will be meeting on its usual second Saturday of the month, but on September 8, we’ll be in San Rafael, hosting Writer’s World at Dominican University — Guzman Hall, 50 Acacia.
Writer’s World is a one-stop shop for the indie-author who wants to learn about self-publishing, marketing, websites, email lists, and more.
Lee Wind, marketing and engagement director of IBPA (Independent Book Publishers Association) will deliver the keynote address, “‘I Published a Book’ is Not a Marketing Plan.” (See an interview with Lee here — Your Audience is Not Everyone.)
The day includes our always-popular Q&A session, about a dozen workshops, and a wealth of professional organizations and vendors, and other resources to help writers take their next steps.
- Get your professional author headshot taken for use on your book cover and in all your marketing.
- Book an individual 20-minute coaching session with Developmental Editor David Colin Carr, to talk about your book or story idea.
- Do a short author interview on video to add to your website and use in marketing your books.
- Get a 20-min coaching session with “book midwife” Ruth Schwartz, to talk about birthing your book.
Writer’s World is sponsored by TheBookDesigner.com, Redwood Writers, Pro Audio Voices, Book Marketing Mentor, and the Digital Engagement Group.
Please share our Facebook event page with any author/publishers you know who might be interested. See you in September.
