Need Help Getting Your Book Published and Promoted?

June 15, 2017 by John Byrne Barry

Most BAIPA members are authors, but a significant fraction of our members are service providers as well — editors, designers, printers, marketers, book midwives, and more.

Let’s say you’re an author who needs help getting your book published and/or promoted. You need someone to turn your manuscript into a professional-looking book, to design your book cover. A copy editor to catch all your typos. Maybe you need someone to build your website. Assist with promotion and publicity.

How do you find the right person?

The best way is to come to a BAIPA meeting and during introductions, tell us all what you’re working on and what kind of services you need. Chances are good someone who provides those services will find you during the break.

Or go directly to one of the service providers you learn about during the introductions.

Of course, just because we service providers are members of BAIPA doesn’t guarantee that we’re brilliant and reliable. But in many cases, there are satisfied clients in the room who can vouch for the service provider.

If you can’t make it to a meeting, or you need someone now, you can also find service providers on our website. Here’s how:

Go to the right column of the home page and scroll down to the “Member Search” section. (See image at right.) There are more than a dozen categories to choose from — editing, marketing, audiobooks, publicity, production process, and design.

Good luck getting your book to the finish line.
