The film The Man Behind The White Guitar, a five-year international project by collaborative artists that I created and produced, is premiering at the Smith Rafael Theater on June 10.
My book, Redemption, How Ronald Reagan Nearly Ruined My Life, is the backstory of the making of this film. I lost my guitar lessons when my dad took a stand against the “Hero of the Republican Party” in the 1981 union strike, a stand for political honesty. This film is my take forty years later — a tribute to José Neto, a world guitarist who plays with the top dogs and has lived a life of kindness, generosity and humility. Beatles members George Harrison and Paul McCartney have even been his fans!
José Neto will play at the Fairfax Festival the day before with Narada Michael Walden — a free concert!
