Libraries across North America are having their first annual Indie Author Day on October 8. Berkeley and San Rafael seem to be the only cities in the Bay Area with participating libraries. October 8 is the date of our next BAIPA meeting, but the Berkeley event is in the afternoon. The event will include panel discussions, networking, and an opportunity for authors to present their books to the public. The deadline for being a presenting author has passed, but you can still attend and get on their mailing list for the future. For more information, visit: indieauthorday.com.
Karin Fisher-Golton is the author of My Amazing Day: A Celebration of Wonder and Gratitude, which recently won the 2015 BAIPA Book Award for Fiction: Children’s Picture Book.
Thanks Karin!

Yes, it is unfortunate that this great event is happening the same day as our event with Kelley Way. I also wanted to mention that the library hosting this event in Marin is the Corte Madera Library. My understanding is that they are doing a full day of speakers and activities. And David Kudler (VP of BAIPA) and I are speaking there at 1PM about BAIPA.
