BAIPA board member John Byrne Barry’s post, “Is a Book Tour Worth the Trouble?” was featured this week in BookWorks, a community for self-publishing authors and the professionals who serve them. It was the inaugural post for BookWorks’ new feature, “Notes from the Field,” where members share their adventures in self-publishing. The post chronicled the nitty gritty of the “Wasted Author Tour” in support of Barry’s second book, Wasted, a “green noir” mystery set in the Berkeley recycling world.
“Is a book tour worth the trouble? My accountant would say no. I say yes.” See more here.
Earlier in June, Barry’s novel, Bones in the Wash: Politics is Tough. Family is Tougher, set during the 2008 presidential campaign in New Mexico, was the featured “Book of the Week.”
Bones in the Wash was the winner of the BAIPA Best Book in 2015. In honor of the election season, the eBook is free, while supplies last.
