Codex is a book art fair held this year in Richmond, California, Feb. 5-8. Book art is about the book as an art object, a piece of art one can always enjoy looking at, and often even read.
The Codex Foundation’s slideshow of last year’s fair barely hints at the variety and creativity of the books on display, usually one of a kind.
If you design, lay out or typeset books, love books, or just love to look at beautiful books, you will love Codex. “I go every year to be inspired by these creations and to pick up ideas for my own books,” says Bill Amatneek, editor at Vineyards Press.
