Barbara McVeigh, BAIPA member, is hosting and participating in a week of events to honor 39th U.S. President Jimmy Carter on his 93rd birthday, Oct. 1-8.
The full events schedule is at jimmycarterjamboree2017.org. Events are sponsored by College of Marin, Community Media Center of Marin, and Marin Artists Network.
“We will wish Carter happy birthday and recognize his leadership in clean energy, environmental protections, human rights, peace and conflict resolution and democracy as well as his integrity and kindness,” says McVeigh. “The Novato City Council and Marin County Board of Supervisors are declaring Oct 1-8 Jimmy Carter Week in Marin. Congressman Jared Huffman and Assemblymember Marc Levine have endorsed the week.”
The celebration includes a series of radio and Marin TV broadcasts, a film and an outdoor music concert at College of Marin’s IVC campus. Also, a video birthday card will be sent to Carter from Marin.
