Sevenau Presents New Book on July 10
BAIPA member and author Catherine Sevenau will introduce her book Queen Bee, Reflections on Life and Other Rude Awakenings, at 4:00 p.m. at Book Passage in Corte Madera on July 10.
Her first book, Passages from Behind These Doors, A Family Memoir, was 2014’s bestseller at Readers’ Books in Sonoma. The frank—often funny—exposure of her life continues in Queen Bee with more about her shattering, confusing childhood and the transition to a clarity with filled with love, humor and growth.
“Things happen; the only control we have over them is how we choose to respond,” says Sevenau. Her reflections are characterized by courage, grace, and laugh-out-loud fun as only someone who’s been in the trenches can relate.
Author Rebecca Lawton (Steelies and Other Endangered Species) says of Sevenau’s Queen Bee, “We can never get enough of her reminisces, or of the center of her universe, a place she reminds us looks a lot like ours . . . or the allowed blunders and disallowed double crosses, she has turned into pure gold . . .”
Book Passage calls her “an irreverent humorist and an astute storyteller,” as do audiences all over the Bay Area. She co-hosts Random Acts, a monthly open mic at Readers’ Books in Sonoma, California, and is a longtime Broker/Owner/Realtor in Sonoma Valley.
Signed copies of her book will be available at Book Passage.
