Mike Van Horn and Dan Miller Join the BAIPA Board of Directors

Congratulations!
Dan Miller and Mike Van Horn

On June 1, 2026, the BAIPA Board of Directors held their annual Board Retreat on Zoom. At the meeting were newly-elected board members Dan Miller and Mike Van Horn. In addition to their experience in the indie author/publisher world, Dan and Mike bring their business savvy and big-picture thinking to advise the Board on BAIPA’s growth in the coming years.

Graciously agreeing to continue their board service are Becky Parker Geist, President; Ruth Schwartz, Vice-President; Kelly McClymer, Secretary; and Directors-at-Large John Byrne Barry, Pamela J. Fenner, Bob Heyman, Sandra V. McGee, Steve Rustad, and Kelley A. Way. Dan Miller will take on the office of Treasurer.

BAIPA Board Members

The BAIPA Board is focused on growing the group’s membership and marketing the member benefits to, well, the world. We are on Zoom, after all.

Most recently, the INDIE AUTHORS TELL ALL  podcast was created as a marketing tool to attract new members. Mike Van Horn is one of the hosts along with Becky Parker Geist and Judy M. Baker. If you haven’t already, click on the image below to listen on PodBean or watch on YouTube. Look for more on the podcast coming soon…including how you can apply to be interviewed. As a thank-you and benefit, you’ll receive a valuable marketing tool – a copy of your interview – to use on your website and social media platforms.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.

Do join us!
