Welcome to the BAIPA Board — Mike Van Horn and Dan Miller

Congratulations, Dan Miller and Mike Van Horn!

At the April 2026 monthly meeting, Dan Miller and Mike Van Horn were elected to the BAIPA Board of Directors. In addition to their successful careers as indie author/publishers, Mike and Dan bring with them their business savvy and big-picture thinking for BAIPA’s growth and future.

Graciously agreeing to continue their board service are Becky Parker Geist, President; Ruth Schwartz, Vice-President; Kelly McClymer, Secretary; and Directors-at-Large John Byrne Barry, Pamela J. Fenner, Bob Heyman, Sandra V. McGee, and Kelley A. Way. Dan Miller will take on the office of Treasurer.

BAIPA Board Members

On June 1, 2026, the BAIPA Board held its Annual Retreat on Zoom. The focus was on growing the membership, member benefits, and marketing this unique group to, well, the world. We are on Zoom.

Following in the footsteps of my marketing mentors, who said never sign off without plugging something, be sure to check out the newly-launched INDIE AUTHORS TELL ALL PODCAST with hosts Beckly Parker Geist, Judy M. Baker, and Mike Van Horn. Listen on Podbean or watch on YouTube. You’re gonna like what you hear and see…

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.

Do join us!

—Becky Parker Geist, BAIPA Board of Directors, President
