Since the pandemic started, we’ve been working on connecting authors who want to be interviewed with interviewers and posting the video interviews on our website. We now have eight. More are in the queue.
For our afternoon session of the December meeting, we’re going to feature three “live” interviews — Nita Winter and Rob Badger, authors of Beauty and the Beast: California’s Wildflowers and Climate Change, Janis Litvin, author of Banish Burnout: How to Move from Stress to Success, and Wendy Bartlett, author of Cellini’s Revenge: The Mystery of the Silver Cups, Book 2.
The authors will answer questions from an interviewer, and then take one or two from the audience. The interviews will be edited and posted as previous interviews have been, but we’ll have a live audience. Now a live audience on Zoom is different than in person — we will be muting audience members during the recording, but you’ll be able to ask questions via chat.
And, if you’re interested, you can be an interviewer or interviewee in 2021. Contact me at johnbyrnebarry@gmail.com or Kelly McClymer at kelly.mcclymer@gmail.com.
The afternoon session is free for members and nonmembers. Bring your own eggnog. :)
Here’s our most recent interview: Gary F. Bengier, author of Unfettered Journey, interviewed by BAIPA President Becky Parker Geist.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
Do join us!
—Becky Parker Geist, BAIPA Board of Directors, President
