Workbooks That Work: Connecting More Deeply with Readers
with Anne Janzer
Are you looking for new ways to serve your audience and extend your impact?
Consider creating a workbook, either as a companion to an existing book or class, or as a product that stands on its own.
A well-designed workbook can:
* Deepen your impact. Encourage people to engage actively with your ideas, rather than passively reading.
* Extend your reach. Attract people who prefer interactive, hands-on exploration over traditional books or more intensive courses.
* Support your business or teaching. Use the workbook in workshops, coaching, or online programs.
* Boost your book’s value. A workbook may attract a new audience to an existing book.
Creating a great workbook is part writing, part experience design. In this interactive workshop, you’ll start by refining your strategy—what do you want the workbook to do, for the reader and for you?
Next we’ll explore structures and approaches, looking at a wide range of options to spark your creativity.
The real magic comes in writing content that sparks true engagement. We’ll look at ways to entice the reader to pick up their pen and actually work with the workbook.
Finally, we’ll discuss publication, production, and distribution options available to you.
You should walk away with a clear plan for how to write and produce your workbook, and how it fits into your overall author and publishing strategy.
