BAIPA Book Cover Contest at December Meeting — How We’re Going to Do It

November 15, 2020 by John Byrne Barry

As was the case at our BAIPA meeting last December, David Kudler will lead a presentation on cover design. We will also be hosting our annual book cover contest. (This is our third year, so can we now confidently call it an annual tradition?)

But of course, we won’t be meeting in person, so we’ll need to manage the cover competition differently.

Here are the rules and process:

  1. The contest is open to any book authored by a current BAIPA member, whether you worked with a designer on the cover or you designed it yourself. Any year of publication is fine. (Even next year, as long as the cover is finished.) You can submit a cover you’ve submitted before, unless you won.
  2. Send a copy of the front cover to [email protected]. At least 1000 pixels wide. Deadline is November 25.
  3. We will put the covers together into one or more pdfs that we will display at the meeting and then everyone who is present will get three votes. (We’ll use a Zoom poll.)

Winner gets a free afternoon workshop in 2021. Expires April 30, 2021.
