With sadness, we share the news that Veronica Valero, a BAIPA member since 2008, died of cancer in January.

Known professionally as the Computer Tutor of Marin, Veronica specialized in working with novices, seniors, authors, entrepreneurs and professionals looking to upgrade their computer skills.   She also helped authors and nonprofits create their websites, and taught clients how to safely send electronic newsletters by using online services.

Veronica visited clients in their homes or offices.  Her background in office management, project management, and desktop publishing was invaluable in preparing her to meet her clients’ computer learning goals.  She also customized lessons to fit the learning style and speed of her clients – a nice touch.

Veronica was known to many of us in BAIPA as a generous, patient, highly competent person.  She will definitely be missed.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Veronica seemed like a lovely person, and I appreciated her positive energy and down-to-earth attitude.

Yes, Veronica certainly was all those things you mention in your comment. It’s a shame she died! Linda J.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.

Do join us!
