Note: Here’s a new book trailer Steve Rustad did for me. The actual live footage came from a documentary about the 1946 Operation Crossroads atomic bomb tests at Bikini Atoll that Steve found in the Smithsonian archives. All other footage was created by Steve with A.I. animation from stills provided by me. The narration is written from my POV as the co-author/editor. Take a watch…. – Sandra V. McGee

This year is the 80th anniversary of Operation CROSSROADS, the first postwar tests of the atomic bomb at Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. My late husband, William L. “Bill” McGee, was one of the 42,000 participants at Crossroads and decades later he wrote about it in Operation Crossroads, Lest We Forget! An Eyewitness Account.

I refreshed the book for the 80th anniversary and rolled out the marketing with my usual checklist of options.

But this time I wanted a book trailer.

Enter Steve Rustad, fellow BAIPA Board Member and former “mad man” with some impressive credits from his advertising career. I supplied Steve with the eBook format of “Crossroads,” a draft of the narration, and various still images, including the book cover designed by Ruth Schwartz.

Steve was a pleasure to work with and now I have two book trailers…the first with a male voice over and the second with a female voiceover written from my POV.

Here’s Book Trailer1 for a comparison…
