About 40 BAIPA members and friends gathered in person on December 7 at the Key Room in Novato for our second hybrid in-real-life/online meeting of 2024. There were another fifteen or so who joined us online. We could not have done it without the help of more than a dozen volunteers.

Thanks to Lynn Fraley, Tricia Sullivan, Pam Fenner, Carol Jacobson, Judy Baker, Steve Rustad, Becky Parker Geist, Christina Gerber, Bob Heyman, David Kudler, Charylu Roberts, Carolyn CJ Jones, Val Sherer, Carol Sheldon, Ruth Schwartz, and Sandra McGee.

Special thanks to Lynn Fraley for coordinating with the venue, Tricia Sullivan for helping me coordinate volunteers, Pam Fenner and Carol Jacobson for managing and troubleshooting zoom (which is more complicated when we’re also meeting in person), and Steve Rustad for taking photographs. And of course, Becky Parker Geist for being master of ceremonies.

Also, speaking for myself and others, it was great to see old friends and new in person.

Here are some of Steve’s photos from the meeting.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.

Do join us!

—Becky Parker Geist, BAIPA Board of Directors, President
