We’re putting some energy into projects to help make it easier for us to find each other’s books and for the world to discover the rich variety of books BAIPA members have to offer. Eventually we’ll have two ways to do that. One is the BAIPA shop on Bookshop.org, and the other will be on the BAIPA website.

We’re starting by getting more BAIPA members’ books on the Bookshop.org page. As you may know, Bookshop.org is a website that acts as an alternative to Amazon, supports independent bookstores, and offers affiliate opportunities. BAIPA has an existing affiliate page, called a shop. When you buy from that shop, a portion of the proceeds go to BAIPA.

Bookshop.org only sells books that are available in the Ingram catalog (so either published through IngramSpark or through a traditional publisher that sells via Ingram). In fact, if your book is in the Ingram catalog, it is already on Bookshop.org. What we are doing here is making the books visible and available on the Bookshop.org BAIPA shop page (in addition to other places on Bookshop.org where they might appear). You can view the BAIPA shop on Bookshop.org here or click on the image above.

Here’s where you come in: If you are a BAIPA member and your book(s) are available on Ingram, we encourage you to add them to the BAIPA Bookshop.org page. Please fill out the form below or click here. You need to fill the form out for each book you want to add. Also please fill out the form if your book(s) are already on the BAIPA Bookshop.org and you want to update their genres.

For BAIPA members’ books that are not on Ingram, we’ll be working on another way to share books on the BAIPA website in the future.

If you have any questions about this process, please post them below.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
