Let’s Support Each Other at BAIPA

Woody Front cover (1)The way I figure it, BAIPA is in effect a giant support group—similar to the Marin men’s group I’ve been running 20 years.

So, hopefully, that means a bunch of you will want to support me by showing up at my 7 pm talk and book-reading for my book, Rollercoaster: How a Man Can Survive His Partner’s Breast Cancer, this Wednesday, August 12 at Copperfield’s Books, 850 4th. St., San Rafael.

You can hear me talk about caregiving in general (there are 35 million Americans in that category, according to The New York Times); or, specifically, about the time 20 years ago when my wife, Nancy Fox, was diagnosed with breast cancer and how we coped, individually and together, during her treatments and their aftermath.

You can hear, too, about male caregivers (husbands, boyfriends, fathers, sons and brothers) typically being a forgotten part of the equation but needing support too.

You can reserve a spot on the bookstore’s site:   WoodyWeingartenAtCopperfields or simply—appear.

I hope to see you there.

And, figuring that support is best when it’s a two-way street, I pledge that if you do show up, I’ll do my best to get to your next local talk or meet-and-greet.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.

Do join us!
