If you don’t know Mark McGuinness, take a listen to this podcast — which is a smart and inspiring interview with thriller award winner CJ Lyons. You’ll hear him at his interactive best.
Mark designs his podcasts beautifully — has a composer create original music for each one — and starts with a short teaching. This one addresses the Inner Critic (which I hold responsible for most cases of writer’s block).
His format is worth emulating. I don’t know where he finds the time — with his main career of coaching creative entrepreneurs, his passion of writing and translating poetry, delight in family, writing short worthwhile books (many as free downloads) about surviving our creative enterprises. And he always seems to be in a good mood with endless kindness, time, and energy. He’s doing something right — following his heart, I would guess.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
Do join us!
