The original deadline for the book cover contest was November 20, which is Saturday, but we’ll accept covers through the end of the day Monday, November 22.
The rules are simple. Any book authored by a current BAIPA member is eligible, whether you worked with a designer or you designed it yourself. Any year of publication is fine, even next year, if the cover is finished.
Send a copy of the front cover to webmaster@baipa.org. Ideally at least 1000 pixels wide, but if you don’t know how many pixels it is, don’t worry about it.
Above is a sampler of the covers we’re received already. Depending on how many more we receive, we may break them into categories, like fiction, nonfiction, children’s….
At the December meeting, we’ll go through the slides so you can see each cover by itself and then we’ll end with a page that has all of the covers. We’ll use a Zoom poll to determine who gets the prize, which is a free afternoon workshop next year.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
Do join us!
