I will be starting a crowdfunding campaign June 19 to help with funding my children’s book series — What If There Were No Black People in the World? The first book in the series, Jaxon’s Magical Adventure with Black Inventors & Scientists, will be out in October. I have also created Jaxon’s Journal, a coloring book and a work-puzzle book that are directly related to the book.
My goal is to place the books into libraries, schools, children organizations and provide teachers with information that will hopefully enable them to incorporate Black history into their curriculum with ease. It is my opinion that children might be more engaged in school if they were introduced to people they can relate to and feel good about their accomplishments. Historical figures can provide a mentoring effect and provide children with career options as well.
This is a big project and I am counting on your help to spread the word so that I can reach out to and get in front of as many schools, libraries and children’s organizations that I can. They say it takes a village to raise a child, it will also take a village to ensure this project is a success. Your help with the printing and marketing will enable me to do just that, be successful. My IndieGoGo Crowdfunding Page launches on June 18. Help me out by spreading the word.
Thanks!

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
Do join us!
