Come to Writers’ Wednesday, May 8, 2024, Nevada Historical Society, Reno, 5 p.m.

Authors Sandra McGee and Peggy Wynne Borgman will share the stage and talk about how Sandra’s nonfiction book inspired Peggy’s novel.
While browsing in a Carson City book shop, Peggy found a first edition of Bill and Sandra McGee’s The Divorce Seekers, published in 2004 in hardcover. It gave Peggy the idea for a novel set on a Nevada divorce ranch like the one where Bill worked in 1947. She asked Sandra to vet her manuscript for historical accuracy. In 2023, Sandra asked Peggy to write the Introduction to her new edition of The Divorce Seekers published in paperback and ebook formats.
Writers’ Wednesday will start off with a wine/cheese reception and book signing, followed by a presentation and audience Q&A.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
Do join us!
