BAIPA member Mara Lynn Johnstone shares about local authors event

If you’re within driving distance of Santa Rosa on Sunday July 10th, or Tuesday the 12th, come join a number of local authors at two different free events!

The first is Author Launch, put on by the Redwood Writers, celebrating local books published in the last year.  There will be 20 authors there to present enticing snippets of their work, and many other bookish people to mingle with.  Also snacks.  And did I mention that it’s free?  Invite anyone who might be interested—books make great gifts!

The second event is Hot Summer Nights, hosted by Copperfield’s Books: every Tuesday in July there will be authors reading passages from their books at the Copperfield’s in Montgomery Village.  (Tuesday the 12th is the day when I will be reading.)  Interested in hearing some fascinating bits of writing?  Fond of supporting local bookstores?  Then come help local writers fill seats at what’s sure to be a good time.  Bring a friend, and an appetite for literature!  (Who can spend time in a bookstore and not feel tempted to buy something?)

There are details and maps to both locations on their Facebook event pages.  (Perfect for sharing; more “writerly” content for your Facebook presence, and a good way to interact with other local writers!)

Becky Parker Geist, BAIPA President, CEO of Pro Audio Voices Inc and AMPlify Audiobooks

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.

Do join us!
