The first Bay Area Book Festival (BABF) is coming to downtown Berkeley on Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7, 2015. The Festival would like to invite BAIPA authors to participate as exhibitors in this exciting inaugural entirely free to the public event.
BABF will feature more than 150 of the world’s best authors in auditoriums throughout the Arts District, and outside on a half-square-mile area that will be closed to traffic and filled with 100 exhibitors.
The Festival’s promoters are expecting to draw more than 100,000 visitors to enjoy book booths, book signings, presentations, panel discussions, storytelling, a huge children’s arena and stage, a cooking stage and an extraordinary public art installation made from 50,000 books!
In order to participate, your exhibit must be related to books or literacy—you may be a bookseller, magazine or journal publisher, book artist or craftsperson, author, literacy or literary organization.
To find out more or to fill out an application, visit the Bay Area Book Festival website, or contact Lisa Bullwinkel at lisa@BayBookFest.org with any questions about the event, the application, or sponsorships. Standard rates are in effect until March 31, 2015.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
Do join us!
