On January 5, children’s book author and illustrator, Sharon Christine Cooper, visited Redwood Empire Gymnastics to read her book, Gymnastics Day with Silly Sammy, to 39 Winter Day Campers ages 5-10. The children were very engaged in the story. They laughed and loved seeing all the silly things that Sammy does in gymnastics class. Sharon had a number-guessing contest and gave a copy of the book as a prize to one very excited young lady!

On January 27, Sharon will be reading from Gymnastics Day with Silly Sammy at Family Storytime: Stay-N-Play with Redwood Empire Gymnastics. The reading, which starts at 10:30 a.m., is at the Petaluma Library, 100 Fairgrounds Drive — coaches from Redwood Empire Gymnastics will bring equipment from the gym for the event.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
Do join us!
