Calling all Bay Area-based women and non-binary individuals in publishing! If you’re looking for opportunities to advance your career and have a strong commitment to diversifying the publishing industry, consider applying for the Robin Seaman Award. Applications for the 2024 award are open now until January 16, 2024. Whether you’re looking to attend a conference or enroll in a course, the Robin Seaman Award can help you achieve your career goals in order to make a difference in publishing. The award is sponsored by Bay Area Women in Publishing and the Seaman Family, but you don’t need to be a member of BAWiP to apply.
This past year, our recipients used their awards for everything from attending the Denver Publishing Institute to the American Marketing Association conference, and we’re excited to continue supporting folks in their publishing journeys and DEI efforts.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
