Here’s a note from Rosemary Jones of Book Publishers Northwest, an independent publishers association like BAIPA, based in Seattle. To be eligible, she says, your book should have a Northwest author or publisher or a good Northwest hook (Seattle setting, Portland walking tours, Montana cookery).
Book Publishers Northwest is taking a full display booth for September’s Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association, September 28-30, in Tacoma. Authors and Publishers located in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana are welcome to send up to three books for display to: Book Publishers Northwest, 2212 Queen Anne Ave North #275, Seattle WA 98109.
If you are an Independent Book Publishers Association member, this display is free. If you are not an IBPA member, please include $10 (check made out to Book Publishers Northwest) to cover display costs. Checks made out to either other name (IBPA, PNBA, etc) will be discarded along with the books.
With your books, please include the following information:
  • Name of Northwest publisher if being submitted by publisher
  • Name of Northwest author if being submitted by author
  • Association – IBPA
  • Check for Book Publishers Northwest if not IBPA member
  • How your book can be purchased: Distributor or website address
Please remember that this is a show for booksellers and librarians, not the general public, and attendees are interested in how to order multiple copies at wholesale prices. We will not be selling books at this show but will have information out on how booksellers and librarians can contact you.
Books will not be returned. Authors and publishers attending PNBA are welcome to pick up their books on Sunday at the display. Books left at the end of the day will be donated to the rural library drive hosted by PNBA. For how to attend, see PNBA page.
If you would like to volunteer at this event or host a larger book give-away at our booth, please contact bpnwnews@aol.com before September 15.
Books will be accepted at the address above until September 25.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.

Do join us!
