We talked at our May meeting about ways we as authors and publishers might help each other promote our books during the pandemic, or whether we shouldn’t be doing that at all.
One idea we had was to interview each other on Zoom and post those interviews on BAIPA’s website as well as give the authors the interviews to use as they see fit.
We now have three video interviews posted here and on YouTube, and a fourth coming soon.
- Health at Your Fingertips: An Interview with Acupressurist and Author Deborah Myers
- What if Your Ailing Father Asked You to Kill Him? An Interview with Author John Byrne Barry
- The Five Personality Patterns: An Interview with Psychotherapist and Author Steven Kessler
If you’d like to be interviewed or be the interviewer, contact BAIPA Board Member John Byrne Barry at johnbyrnebarry@gmail.com.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.
We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
Do join us!
