My recent Coloring Book Party was a joyful celebration of art and history and the launch of my new Women of Color and Accomplishment Coloring Book 2.

The fun continues with the final event of my Teaching Black History Through Art exhibit. In addition to the new coloring book, there will be a panel discussion by three educators as they share creative strategies using Women of Color and Accomplishment Coloring Books for the classroom.

Date: October 24, 2025

Time: 7 PM – doors open at 6 PM

Location: Community Media Center of Marin, 819 A Street, San Rafael, CA

Refreshments will be served at this free event.

My two books in the Women of Color and Accomplishment series are my response as a social justice painter to the murder of George Floyd. I hope to start dialogs on these women and encourage people to be an anti-racist.

One of my favorite things about BAIPA is its culture of generosity, the willingness — even eagerness — to share what we have each learned in the process of bringing stories to life. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, encouragement, and information on industry vendors and services. And lots of one-on-one advice and mentoring.

We welcome all who have an interest in making connections within the world of independent publishing and learning more about how to publish and sell their work successfully. Together we are raising the standard of independent publishing and helping our members thrive.
