Five Publishing Approaches, Demystified
About Our Speakers

Brooke Warner is publisher of She Writes Press, an imprint of The Stable Book Group. She is a memoir coach and author of Write On, Sisters!, Green-light Your Book, What’s Your Book?, and three books on memoir. She’s also a TEDx speaker (“Green-light Revolution”), weekly podcaster (of “Memoir Nation” with co-host Grant Faulkner), and publishes a weekly newsletter, Writerly Things, on Substack at brookewarner.substack.com.
Stone Bridge Press president and publisher Peter Goodman lived in Tokyo, Japan, for ten years, where he worked as an editor for English-language publishers Charles E. Tuttle and Kodansha International. He has served as in-house editor, ghost writer, translator, and project manager on over 400 Japan- and Asia-related titles. Peter established Stone Bridge in 1989. He is past president of the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association (formerly MSPA) and past Board Chair of IBPA. For several years he was host of the IBPA-sponsored podcast Inside Independent Publishing (with IBPA). He is currently on the board of the Publishing Professionals Network and host of The Stone Bridge Podcast.
Arlene Miller has written and published a dozen grammar books and workbooks, as well as a novel and a memoir. She has given grammar workshops; spoken before many writing, publishing and civic groups; appeared on several podcasts and on KGO radio in San Francisco. She has been writing a weekly blog since 2013. She has a B.A. in journalism, an M.A. in humanities/music , and a California teaching credential. She taught at College of Marin and Santa Rosa Junior College in California. She has been a technical writer, an English teacher, and a copyeditor. She also tap dances and writes music. She has lived in Florida for the past five years.
