I've been a Broadway dancer, a single mother, a psychologist, and now, a writer. Starting with Mt. Kilimanjaro, I've also climbed in the Alps, Andes, Pyrénées, and the Sierras and done many multi-day bike trips. But it's my solo travels through Africa and the Middle East in my early thirties where I felt most "at home," I came to believe that people all over the world are, basically, good, and that where one is born determines whether one will grow up free or oppressed. That realization led me to volunteer with refugees on Lesvos in 2019, where I saw how people who'd lost everything could still maintain hope. They've been my inspiration ever since.
