Super Fans — It’s Not a Numbers Game, It’s Engagement

March 12, 2017 by Becky Parker Geist

Here’s a very brief takeaway from Saturday’s BAIPA presentation by Penny Sansevieri, “Super Fans — The Secrets to Selling More Books.”

It’s not a numbers game, it’s an engagement game.

Building a base of 100 to 1,000 super fans, those who will tell 10 to 20 of their friends about your book, is more powerful than having 10,000 or more followers. ASK for responses and reviews. Right at the end of the body of content, add a letter thanking them for reading, asking for a review, providing contact info, inviting response, but not trying to sell.

Personally respond to every letter/email. More work at the front end pays off big time on the back end.
