SUMMARY:Selling Direct: How to Turn Your Author Website Into a Bookstore
DESCRIPTION:  BAIPA monthly meetings are now on Zoom\, with hybrid meetings (Zoom and in-person) twice a year (June and December). The Zoom links will be provided to you via email on the Friday evening before\, around 9 PM.\nTherefore\, all non-members MUST register in advance in order to participate. However\, all current BAIPA members will get the Zoom info for this session automatically.\nPlease scroll down to the bottom of this page if you need a non-member ticket.\nThe general meeting begins at 9 am\, the speaker presentation is at 11 am\, after Q&A\, networking time\, introductions & announcements.\n(Click here for the schedule for the day)\n_________________________________________________________________________________\n\n\nSelling Direct: How to Turn Your Author Website Into a Bookstore\n\nMost authors treat their website as a place to point people toward Amazon. But your website can do more than link out\, it can actually sell. \nIn this session\, I’ll walk through the three real ways authors can sell books directly from their own site: linking out (simple\, but you don’t own the customer)\, building a direct storefront with tools like WooCommerce\, Shopify\, or newer author-specific platforms like Curios and AMPlify\, and the hybrid model that uses Amazon for discovery while your website handles relationship and repeat sales. \nWe’ll cover what each option actually costs in time and setup\, what you get in return (margin\, customer data\, control)\, and how to pick the right one for where you are right now. \nKey takeaways:\n– The three real models for selling books directly\, and the tradeoffs of each\n– Why “linking to Amazon” and “selling direct” aren’t mutually exclusive\n– What tools like WooCommerce\, Shopify\, and Curios actually do differently\n– How to decide which approach fits your time\, budget\, and goals \n\n\n\nAbout Our Speaker\n\n \nJeffrey Samorano is a Marketing System Architect who helps authors\, coaches\, and creative entrepreneurs turn scattered online efforts into cohesive marketing systems. With over 20 years of experience building and optimizing WordPress websites\, sales funnels\, and automation systems\, he specializes in helping independent creators use their websites not just as online brochures\, but as strategic sales and relationship-building tools. \nJeffrey works primarily with service-based entrepreneurs and authors who want clarity without complexity. His approach focuses on structure\, reader journey\, and ownership — especially the importance of email lists and direct audience relationships in a world dominated by third-party platforms. \nRather than chasing trends\, Jeffrey teaches sustainable marketing systems that support long-term growth. His goal is to help creators feel confident\, clear\, and in control of how their work reaches the people it’s meant to serve. \n\n\n\nConnect with Jeffrey

SUMMARY:Workshop: GEO: Your Website Has Two Audiences Now
DESCRIPTION:Here’s the next BAIPA Workshop!\nLike our monthly meetings\, these events are exclusively on Zoom. The Zoom links will be provided to you via the confirmation email you will get upon completing your registration\, as well as via email on the Friday evening before\, around 9 PM.\nTherefore\, all non-members MUST register in advance in order to participate. However\, all current BAIPA members will get the Zoom info for this session automatically.\nNOTE: We are trying out offering free tickets to current BAIPA members\, through April\, 2026\, and then we will evaluate. \nMember tickets are free\, Non-Member tickets are $40. \nPlease scroll down to the bottom of this page for the ticket selection area.\nThe workshop WILL be recorded and the video will be shared with all current BAIPA members through the Member Only Resources area\, as well as with any paid non-member ticket holders within 48-72 hours.  \nGEO: Your Website Has Two Audiences Now \nMost authors already know blog posts and fresh content are what make SEO work. What’s changed is who else is reading that content. When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a book recommendation\, the answer comes from somewhere\, and right now almost no author website is built to be that source. \nIn this hands-on workshop\, we’ll cover how AI search engines actually read and cite content\, and what that means in practice: writing an opening that gets pulled as a direct answer\, turning headings into the questions people actually type\, and why an author bio page is one of the most important pages on a site. We’ll close with a live rewrite of a volunteer’s page\, so everyone leaves with a checklist they can apply to their own site that week. \nKey takeaways:\n– How AI search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity actually read and select content\n– Simple\, concrete changes that help both human readers and AI engines find and trust your writing\n– Why an author bio page matters more than most people think\n– A live rewrite everyone can use as a template for their own site \n  \n\n  \n\nAbout Our Speaker: Jeffrey Samorano\n\n\n \n\nJeffrey Samorano is a Marketing System Architect who helps authors\, coaches\, and creative entrepreneurs turn scattered online efforts into cohesive marketing systems.
