Ruth Schwartz, BAIPA board member and book midwife, will take you through the IngramSpark self-publishing portal, showing
• Set up an account, including which agreements are required and which are optional
• Set up your book title, filling out all of the fields
• Understand discounts and best discount practices
• Prepare files
• Upload files
• Approve proofs and order sample copies
• Place orders
Along the way, Ruth will talk about pre-sales, timeframes for approvals, initial fees, revision fees, distribution, etc.
Ruth Schwartz, aka the Wonderlady, has been a member of the BAIPA board for more than four years and currently oversees the BAIPA website and communications. Known as a Book Midwife, she has helped more than 50 authors through the self-publishing process in the last four years, where they get clear about the steps needed to turn out a professional book that looks and reads as good as anything coming from a traditional publisher. Ruth has helped almost two dozen authors use IngramSpark effectively, especially in order to reach the bookstore and library markets.
