Self-Publishing Know-How with Robin Cutler — September 12, 2020

BAIPA monthly meetings are now exclusively on Zoom, at least until we get through this COVID-19 crisis. The Zoom links will be provided to you via email on the Friday evening before 9 PM. So you MUST register in advance in order to participate.

The general meeting begins at 9 am, speaker presentation is at 11 am, after Q&A, networking time, introductions & announcements. Scroll down for details and to register. No afternoon workshop for this meeting.

In the midst of a global pandemic, the publishing industry is rapidly changing. Authors and indie publishers are perfectly poised to not only face our current challenges in the marketplace but to thrive. In this session you will learn:

  • Self-publishing current trends
  • Self-publishing best practices
  • IngramSpark and how it works
  • Metadata to be successful

And we will wrap everything up with a Q&A with Robin, who is retiring from IngramSpark as of the end of this year.

Robin Cutler, Director at IngramSpark

Robin Cutler not only leads the development of IngramSpark as an Ingram Content Group service for indie authors and publishers but she also created and launched the platform in 2013. During her career, she has published over 1000 books as Assistant Director at USC Press, and CEO and founder of her own trade imprint, Summerhouse Press. Robin most recently worked for Amazon/CreateSpace. UPDATE: BAIPA continues to meet via ZOOM ONLY. However, we held a very successful HYBRID meeting on May 6. The board is in discussion about future events like that one, and we will get the word out as soon as decisions are made. Current BAIPA members do not need to register for our monthly meetings. The night before the meetings, they will receive the Zoom info. However, members must log in to get a discounted ticket for workshops.

BAIPA Monthly Meetings

IMPORTANT
BAIPA is now meeting on the first Saturday of every month via Zoom only for now. In general, if the first Saturday falls on a holiday or holiday weekend, we will meet on the second Saturday.

We are also having occasional workshops on the third Saturday of every month (also via Zoom only for now. In general, if the regular monthly meeting moves to the second Saturday, then the workshop will be two weeks later.
